Chinese customs implement 24-hour advance manifest regulation
Allianz would like to inform its customers that, as of January 1st 2009, Chinese Customs will implement a new manifest regulation. The rule requires the submission of cargo manifest data elements to be sent electronically to Chinese Customs 24 hours prior to the loading of cargoes onto vessels to and from China Ports.
The regulation will be applicable to all export, import and transhipment cargoes via any Chinese port (except Hong Kong).
Under this new procedure, cargo manifest details will have to be transmitted 24 hours in advance. This implies that shipping instructions will have to be provided earlier to enable CMA CGM to comply with this new requirement and ensure sufficient time for shipments. To better inform its customers regarding this new implementation, CMA CGM has posted the list of data required by Chinese Customs on its website, to be found in the Data Element Requirement hereunder.
